This Juneteenth, join us for a celebration of Black joy and the rhythm of life with Pixar’s Soul.
The film follows Joe Gardner, a middle school band teacher who finally lands the gig of a lifetime at a legendary jazz club. However, a sudden accident sends him on a cosmic journey to “The Great Before,” where he must mentor a cynical soul named 22 to find her “spark.”
More than just a stunning adventure, Soul is a groundbreaking tribute to Black culture. It moves beyond the struggle to find “purpose” and instead honors the freedom to simply live, find joy in the small moments, and embrace the music within us all.
Additionally! In honor of Juneteenth, MT Historical Society has partnered with the Last Chance Tour Train to bring you a special trolley tour of Helena sites important in Black History. Join this unique opportunity to hear the about the lives of influential Black Montanans of the past as you see where their stories took place. The tour is free, but prior registration is required and the tour is limited to 32 people. The tour leaves from outside of the Myrna Loy, and will drop you back off just in time for the movie!
