Betsey Hurd brings a collection of work compiled from her solo exhibition at the Paris Gibson Square Museum in 2020, and expanded upon with a number of new pieces. Primarily centered in ceramics, she is multi-disciplinary with knowledge and skill in ceramics, painting, and bronze work; selecting the best medium to bring her ideas to life. Her work and presence as an artist in Helena contributes greatly to the community, offering her skill, enthusiasm, and authenticity that breathes life-like through her figures.

Artist Statement:
I am a painter and a sculptor focusing on contemporary animal imagery to convey ideas, themes, and emotions universal to all species. Frequently animals and humans merge into what I refer to as Polymorphic Fabulism, but this phenomenon of becoming “other” has been referenced in all human cultures. In my work I seek to find and bring to life these deeper connections.
