Tae & The Neighborly, a Wisconsin based Soul-pop R&B group, found themselves playing music together in a very unconventional way. They were all neighbors – each living alone on one floor of a five-story flat – during the pandemic. Cake-baking happened to be a shared passion of all five members, and they found themselves continually knocking on each other’s doors for ingredients during the 2020 sugar shortage. The group eventually made the decision to move in together and share all cake-baking resources. And since everyone knows all good rhythms begin in the kitchen, it wasn’t long before the group began to write and perform together, which took them from making music in the kitchen to making music across the country.
