On Thursday, February 21st, 150 choir students from Helena High and Capital High premiered “Headwaters” by composer Moira Smiley. This three part composition was commissioned by the choirs and The Myrna Loy, and incorporated phrases and words suggested by the students about their lives in Montana. Thanks to Lisa and Tom Cordingley for sponsoring the concert, and to the NEA for helping fund the process.
Moira Smiley also spent an afternoon with students from Bryant Elementary School, teaching a song and step routine.
