Juno award-winning artist, Tom Landa, and his band, Locarno, visited band and Spanish students at Helena High on Friday, April 5th. Locarno, a Mexican Folk Roots band, performed a variety of songs and then got students up and moving.
Students had a blast practicing their Spanish and learning song lyrics, rhythms, and dance steps while exploring a variety of musical instruments and their significance in Mexican culture and music. Band director Cody Hollow accompanied Locarno on drums, and HHS art teacher, Victor Daniel, even got to pop in at the end and join in on guitar. A grand time was had by all!
